TechniSat Digital GmbH will be presenting its hybrid box TeleStreamer 2TW at the IFA 2007 show.
IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) is certainly going to be one of the key topics at this year’s international broadcasting show, the IFA 2007. It is no surprise that TechniSat Digital GmbH with its IPTV box TeleStreamer 2TW is a step ahead of the field in recognising the trend towards the fourth distribution path, IPTV! TechniSat proudly presents the new hybrid box TeleStreamer 2TW to visitors of this year’s show. This means that the unit cannot only display IPTV contents from the Internet on your television screen, it can also receive DVB-T programmes as well.
Certainly IPTV will establish itself as the fourth distribution pathway in the future in addition to digital satellite, digital cable and digital terrestrial broadcasts.
The TeleStreamer 2TW is thus the optimum solution for all those who would like to compile their own individual television and radio programme. Already, 14 million households in Germany are using fast DSL access to the Internet, enabling them to receive IPTV contents. The hybrid box is available without any ties to a specific provider, thus allowing you to compile your personal, individual programme from the variety of IPTV movie portals already available.
A multitude of applications
Experience the convenience of the user-friendly hybrid box, and enjoy the multitude of applications of the TeleStreamer 2TW. You can either use the integrated Internet Explorer to surf the Internet via your television set, or use the TeleStreamer 2TW to access DVB-T programmes. Additionally you can also access your home network and, for instance, view movies stored on your computer in the video file format WMV on your television screen. There is no cooling fan, and thus no noise! The TeleStreamer 2TW does not require an integrated fan, thus sparing your ears the bother of intrusive background noise. The convergence of distribution paths in a single set-top box combines the familiar with the multitude of options provided by the world of IP, offering a new multi-media television experience to you.

The TechniSat group of companies has also established a production facility in Oborniki, close to Wraclaw in Poland since the autumn of 2006. This facility produces items exclusively for the markets in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and also for Portugal. The establishment of the TechniSat facility in Poland has enabled us to get back production demand from the Far East to a member country of the EU, a benefit also for other companies. We see this as a contribution to the concept of Made in Europe. Made in Germany is a seal of approval for products made in Germany, Made in Europe is for products made in EU member states.
